James Blunt Hits Number 1 and Answers 10 Questions for SheKnows.com

Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) March 9, 2006

Number 1 selling singer/songwriter James Blunt is the latest musician to be featured on SheKnows.com as part of their “10 Questions with…” music interview series. Exclusive conversations with other artists – including Howie Day, Rob Thomas (matchbox twenty), Lifehouse, The Secret Machines, Snow Patrol and Aqualung – have previously appeared on the site, and new interviews are added regularly.

James Blunt’s first album, “Back to Bedlam,” has been a huge success all around the globe. One of the Englishman’s first coups was keeping the venerable Rolling Stones from topping the UK charts in mid-2005, and his latest achievement includes seeing his song “You’re Beautiful” hit number 1 on Billboard’s US Hot 100 singles chart after hovering just a breath below the top spot for three weeks. His album, meanwhile, is #5 on the The Billboard 200.

In the SheKnows.com interview, Blunt discusses several topics, including how such success has been a surprise, his backup plan in case his musical career didn’t work out, and why topping the charts isn’t really the most important thing to him.

And as for how he thinks he’s been able to make it where other artists have failed? SheKnows.com got Blunt’s perspective on that topic, too. “You know, I wouldn’t actually know the answer to that. Maybe my mum just was very good at buying thousands of copies of the album,” he laughs.

The article can be found only on the web at http://SheKnows.com/about/look/6868.htm .

What is SheKnows? Put simply, SheKnows is an information resource for women. According to a recent eMarketer research report, 91 million women used the Internet in 2005 — shopping and researching, playing games, socializing and working online. They are checking their horoscopes, finding out about new music and movies, browsing recipes and menu plans for dinner inspiration, reading their favorite blogs, debating politics, joining support networks, researching career opportunities — among other things. Now women can accomplish all of these tasks — and so many more — at one site: SheKnows.com, a one-stop, female-friendly portal destination for busy women. Upcoming music interviews include those with platinum-selling singer/songwriter Jason Mraz, Australian superstar Missy Higgins and a newcomer from the Pacific Northwest, Brandi Carlile.

Julia Michaels Releases Debut Self-titled EP, Available Everywhere July 20th Through SA TrackWorks

Julia Michaels Releases Debut Self-titled EP, Available Everywhere July 20th Through SA TrackWorks

Los Angeles, CA (Vocus) July 20, 2010

LA-based pop rocker Julia Michaels has announced the release of her debut self-titled EP, available everywhere on July 20th, 2010. The EP is being distributed by BFM Digital, a leading digital music aggregator and distributor of independent music.

At only sixteen years old, Julia Michaels gained particular attention when her single, Born To Party (released on June 17th), was featured on MTV’s hit TV show The Hills, exposing her music to a wide audience that responded immediately. The single, with it’s fun, steady dance beat, became a quick success among the viewers and created demand for more music.

The new EP, produced by Anthony Anderson and Steve Smith of SA TrackWorks Productions and Joleen Belle and out on the SA Trackworks Label, incorporates upbeat songs like Born To Party while also giving the listener a taste of Julia’s softer song-writing side. Each of the four tracks exudes passion and boast soulful lyrics often missing from such youthful releases. Lead track, Bailey, is a heart-wrenching coming of age ballad that showcases Julia’s strong vocals laced over melodic piano and strings. The EP wraps up with the punchy, sing-along track, Next To You, sure to be a favorite among listeners.

Julia, a natural-born performer, started singing at age twelve, harmonizing and writing her own songs from the start. She later formed a four-piece rock band, performing in various venues and writing new original music before launching her solo career. Julia cites her main influences as Fiona Apple, Lisa Mitchell, Laura Marling, Missy Higgins, Paramore, Juliet Simms, Sarah Blasko, and The Fray.

“Wow, she’s the real deal.” – Suzan Koc, BMG Music Publishing

“Whatever “it” is, she has more of “it” than most singers I’ve ever heard.” – Ken Lewis, Grammy Award-winning mix engineer and producer
